Rebellion
Are you rebelling against someone or something?
Not really now but when I was younger I secretly wanted to be a revolutionary. I was preparing for war and in war often fear and hate can motivate you more then anything.. Theres got to be a better way to oppose certain ideas or restrictions. Finding a way around the rebellion between my selves with weapons like polar oppositions just keeps me down. IT no longer has the power I thought it once did to instigate anything helpful.. At one time in my life I thought I was going to lead a revolution but I went about it the wrong way and I ended up fighting myself mostly.
Do you act on impulse or do you plan in advance?
I guess I usually plan in advance when I am unsure about something I need to do. I would prefer to trust my impulse/intuition when I'm surer of the direction of an idea. Unless making that move is going to cost me a bunch of money obviously planning everything in advance really takes the moment out of the moment. Planning something to look impulsive and immediate is always possible but I try to avoid that because I always feel like a fraud.
Do you deliberately alter your perceptions and behavior?
I dont know about altering behavior but I think that altering perception is just a given for every single creative process. You take an image, an idea, whatever, and reshape it with your own unique way of looking at things. Isnt that what artists do?
What is authority? What are stereotypes?
Authority is anything that restricts or inhibits. And in this case anything that restricts or inhibits freedom of imagination or the flow of creativity. The opposite of say, a personal catalyst or cathartic process. Writer's block, lack of passion, the absence of a muse, anything that doesn't inspire you. True authority is restrictive, especially when it comes to art or anything creative for that matter, it puts us in a rut with all its rules and regulations and such. Art, in it's purest form requires a lot of rebellion in all of its methods. It requires a lot of revolt and uprising, against set practices, common methods, and even your own way of thinking.
What makes you angry? What makes you feel free?
Poverty, poverty.
